New Bedford Regional Airport is a tower controlled facility located minutes from route 140 and the south coast. New Bedford (KEWB) is home to many aircraft to include corporate jets, single engines, twin engines, and high performance airplanes. The airport has two runways and five instrument approaches. Training at KEWB allows students to get valuable flight experience by learning to operate within and around controlled airspace, communicating with Air Traffic Control, and landing and taking off with larger aircraft. It has the same feel as other large airports to include Nantucket and TF Green. All AAFC students will receive ample experience flying at KEWB and have an opportunity to visit the Air Traffic Control tower.

Taunton Municipal Airport / King Field (KTAN) is a non towered facility located in East Taunton, approximately 2.5 miles east of the Silver City Galleria Mall. Taunton airport is rich in history and is the oldest continually operated airport in the country. On any given day you’ll see single engine airplanes, Piper J-3 cubs, biplanes, experimental aircraft and crop dusters. Taunton has that historic feel that reminds us of our aviation heritage. The pilot community at KTAN is friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to share hangar stories with new students. Feel free to sit out on the front porch and watch airplanes take off and land to your heart’s content. KTAN has one paved runway and one grass strip. All students will receive ample flying experience at KTAN and KEWB as part of their flight training.
